The Department of Electrical Engineering at Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Rajkiya Engineering College, Mainpuri, is committed to providing quality technical education, fostering innovation, and developing skilled engineers capable of addressing the challenges of modern industry and society. The department offers a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) program in Electrical Engineering with an annual intake of 60 students along with admissions through the lateral entry scheme directly into the second year. The curriculum is designed to provide a strong foundation in electrical sciences while equipping students with the latest technological advancements in power systems, electrical machines, renewable energy, automation, control systems, electronics, and intelligent electrical drives.
The department is supported by a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty members, with more than 60% holding doctoral degrees. Most faculty members have obtained their qualifications from premier institutions such as IITs, NITs, DTU, and other reputed universities. Faculty members actively engage in research, consultancy, sponsored projects, and professional development activities, ensuring that students receive education aligned with current industrial and technological trends.
The department houses well-equipped laboratories including Electrical Machines Laboratory, Power Systems Laboratory, Power Electronics and Drives Laboratory, Control and Instrumentation Laboratory, Analog Electronics Laboratory, Digital Electronics Laboratory, Microprocessor Laboratory, and Electrical Workshop. In addition, students have access to advanced facilities such as PLC and SCADA systems, PCB Prototyping Machine, Renewable Energy Laboratory, and a dedicated Research Laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation facilities using the Typhoon HIL platform.
To promote innovation and sustainable technologies, the department has established a Centre of Excellence in Renewable Energy, providing opportunities for students and researchers to work on emerging areas such as smart grids, renewable energy integration, electric vehicles, and intelligent energy management systems.
